The new Maybank2u (beta) site has been officially launched today to mass users with its new sleek web 2.0 based look. If you visit the site today you will still goes to the old Maybank2u site, that’s because you need to click on the middle banner to take you to the new Maybank2u site.

The first impression that I had is how amazingly organized the page has become, without all the menu and information clutter (not to mention the distracting flash advertisement animation) that the previous Maybank2u site had. The new site has adopted the strong black-white-yellow color scheme, which I think is easier on the eyes. Another main changes is that the page also has browser-like tabbed menu now, with the relevant options being tabbed into the respective category.

The user navigation has became friendlier and simpler, without the need to move my eyes all over the page to search for a particular service information, unlike in the previous Maybank2u page. I also like the selection highlight feature which brings you to focus into the selection immediately.

Overall, the experience has been positive, especially the much improved and ‘clean’ menu system. However, at times during transaction, the new site do feel a bit sluggish, which I hope the Maybank2u site management are able to sort out in the near future.

If you have Maybank2u account, try it and let me know your comments.
