Google engineer Jon Perlow has released a useful little feature in the gmail that may help you to prevent any embarassment or regrets from sending emails that you should not send, like in those moments when you’ve had couple of drinks or during the early mornings at 3am.

Called the Mail Goggles, the new Google Labs feature helps you to re-think about sending that email by letting you solve some math problems. Just to see if you are sober.

Click on the Labs icon on the Gmail page and enable it in the list of Labs feature. Then go to the General Settings to select the day and time duration for the feature to be active.

Google just turns 10 today. Looking back 10 years ago did you know the Google company started out as the name Backrub and Googol?

Anyway for the 10th anniversary Google has decided to kicks off a project called Project 10100 (pronounced “Project 10 to the 100th”) where it calls for submission of ideas for a humanitarian effort, a call for ideas to change the world by helping as many people as possible.  

Google has committed $10 million to the winner of the best idea to implement the project. The categories include:

Found a really good Google hack, which basically makes the logo dance on the screen. Here’s how to do it:

1. Go to http://www.google.com/webhp?hl=en

2. Copy and paste the following url and paste unto the navigation bar of the page (replacing the previous url)

If you are like me who like to have portable applications and utilities in a USB stick/drive, these portable web browsers would prove useful and handy where you would be able to store and bring your favourite web browser settings and configuration wherever you go.

I like to use these portables application as a test trial first before doing any installation on my host PC. That way, the application can be added and removed without cluttering the PC registry (which will slows down the system).

It appears that Google has released a beta version of its newly developed browser, code named Google Chrome. It should be downloadable by tomorrow on Sept 3rd.

However I soon found out that this release is only accessible currently to 100 countries only, so I have to wait if it is available here tomorrow.

The news was ‘leaked’ out yesterday in Google’s own blog and according to the blog, the open source browser will be ‘clean, fast, and it gets out of your way and gets you where you want to go’.

Some of the features of Google Chrome browser reported:

• Tabbed browsing where each tab gets its own address bar and separate process. This means if the current tab crashes it would not take the whole browser with it.
• Includes Google Gears.
• An Opera-like tab page where you can view nine recently viewed webpage in thumbnail and can be ‘dragged out’ to create a new tab itself.
• ‘Incognito mode’ feature which basically lets you surf anonymously and privately without storing your sessions information such as cookie. Similar to Safari’s ‘Private Browsing’ feature.
• Support for web applications type apps, such as Adobe’s AIR.
• New javascript engine that is built ground up and optimized for speed.
• Malware and phishing option built in that updates automatically.
